Rafal was global CTO at top Myanmar KMA Group Companies. KMA Group consists of: Golden Myanmar Airlines, Microfinance Bank, CB Bank, KMA Construction, KMA Hotels, KMA Travel, KMA Real Estate, KMA Agriculture, CB Insurance, KMA Mining, KMA Machinery, KMA Forrest etc.

Rafal reported directly to CEO/Owner of the KMA group and oversee over 100 IT employees across 30+ companies.

Rafal was responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the group. Rafal worked with Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, Rafal direct all employees in IT departments to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s strategic plan. Rafal’s core responsibilities at KMA Group:

• To render policy advice on digital transformation of the KMA Group as per the global corporate standards and accordingly propose central IT team and sub-teams of IT technicians in each of the business verticals of the KMA Group

• To provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems of the Group

• To be responsible for all aspects of information technology management and control including ST, MT and LT planning and strategy building; formulation of multi-annual budget as per the plan and strategy; drawing of the team structure of central IT sub-division with in BDD; drafting the job descriptions of all the team members in IT sub-division and each of the sub-team members in various business verticals of the KMA Group; drafting of the KRAs and KPIs for each teammate.; facilitation of induction and capacity building programs for new recruits; supervision of the performance of the teammates; performance appraisals of teammates against the KPIs; submission of recommendations for technical upgrades in accordance with the IT load map and intermittent needs

• To develop company’s IT security and recovery policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs related to the acquisition, Implementation and operation of IT systems

• To examine the “As Is” status of IT levels in various business verticals of the KMA Group and accordingly prepare a road map for desirable “To Be” status of the IT levels

• To suggest best solutions for data structuring, data management, data analysis, data presentation, customization including type of engagement plan for BPI or BPR viz: ERP, BI, CRM, SCM, HCM etc.,

• To oversee & control the computer operations of the KMA Group including local area networks and wide-area networks

• To oversee and supervise the progress of various activities in the IT projects including management of multiple information and communication systems and projects, office automation, system security and back up procedures, co-ordination for development of all enterprise level software and hardware including website

• To finalize, coordinate and control all projects related to IT and selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems for the company

• To review all hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of outsourced team members as deemed appropriate

• To develop, when possible, master purchase or lease agreements for hardware, software, maintenance and telecommunication services

• To maintain knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet established service levels with maximum effectiveness and minimum costs commensurate with acceptable risks

• To develop and maintain the Systems Architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of network system

• To conceptualize innovative ICT based projects for effective service delivery to primary and secondary stakeholders of the KMA Group

• To undertake any other IT related tasks as and when assigned
